American Dad! is an animated television series featuring the Smith family (and particularly Stan, the dad), and the various adventures they have together. Stan belongs to the CIA, and many of the shows center on his efforts to 'keep America free' and deal with the obstacles he and his face. The Smith family live in Langley Falls, Virginia which is a fictional mix of Langley, Virginia and Great Falls, Virginia. Langley is of course the real location of the CIA headquarters.
American Dad is produced by Underdog Productions and Fuzzy Door Productions for 20th Century Fox. It was created, in part, by Seth MacFarlane, who also created Family Guy. The similarities between the two animated shows are many, though both shows stand on their own. There have been 2 seasons made so far, and more are planned.
